Litte Efforts Make a Big Difference -

On Sunday, March 23rd, I will complete a 5k. This is a small race compared to past years, in 2017 I ran the half-marathon, but I will be there because even small efforts can make a big difference.

I have been with CALICO for over 10 years and have been lucky enough to be a part of many extraordinary efforts to better the lives of children. From testifying before the California legislature to participating in a documentary about child abuse, I'm proud of some big moments. But when I think back over my career, it's the small moments that show me the difference places like CALICO make. I remember when I put on a clear mask to talk to a child during the Pandemic. I didn't think much of it (other than I looked goofy - the picture is attached), but afterward, the little girl said, "I'm glad I could see your face. I felt safer that way." That small choice made a difference for that child and reminded me how even small efforts make big impacts.

I believe every child deserves a safe, happy childhood and my 5k race is a small effort towards making that happen. All the money I raise will help to ensure that a child who has been hurt is given the chance for the life they deserve.

My goal is to raise $500. This money will help cover the comprehensive cost of a forensic interview and family support services for one child and their family. Will you support me in reaching this goal? Even a small donation will make a difference!
